4: Data Logging

The downloaded CSV file format

The data download file is in a Comma Separated File (CSV) format that can be imported directly into a

spreadsheet such as Microsoft® Excel®. Any loss of signal that is logged will be indicated in a status column and

the flow value during the signal loss will be set to zero.

CSV File format

Product, Serial number, Control software revision, Flow code revision, FPGA code revision

Site name, Dimensions, Pipe OD, Pipe wall, Pipe lining, Pipe material, Lining material, Sensor type, Sensor

mode, Fluid, Temperature °C, Temperature °F, Separation distance

Date, Time, Flow value, Units, +Total, -Total, Status

(The Status column is used to indicate if the flow meter cannot measure a valid flow reading).

Importing the log into Microsoft® Excel®

The .CSV file on the memory stick can be opened automatically in Microsoft® Excel® by double-clicking on the

filename. If Excel® is not available, the file can be opened with a text file reader, or imported as a comma

separated variable file into a spreadsheet program.
